Supporting Democracy Activists in 2023

People's Goals provided crucial support to Myanmar democracy activists throughout 2023, including CDMs (Civil Disobedience Movement participants) residing in Thailand. In December, People’s Goal played a key role in facilitating a successful fundraising auction.

The first batch of assistance reached 157 individuals: 59 army/police CDMs, 45 CDMs from civil departments, and 53 other democracy activists. We covered their rent, allocating a total of 42 million kyats for food and security expenses. The remaining applicants will be supported in the second phase soon.

People's Goals, in collaboration with partner organizations, prioritizes assistance for People's Soldiers and Police. However, based on available resources, we endeavor to extend support to as many democracy activists as possible.
