NUG will take responsibility for the family members of national soldiers and police seeking refuge
Acting President Duwa Lashi La promised that the NUG will provide food, shelter, and health care for the family members of national soldiers and police standing with the people.
Acting President issued a statement on October 6 urging the national soldiers and police to contact the respective entities as soon as possible.
In addition, NUG’s Acting President said that soldiers and police are welcome to join the federal union army when it is established. Those wishing to continue their career may continue to serve, and salaries and pensions will be arranged by the NUG. The NUG will also recognize the number of years they have served in the military.
The NUG says that the reason for issuing this statement is because it understands that there are many national soldiers and police within Tatmadaw who want to stand with the people but are still serving inside the military due to many restrictions.
The NUG is also very proud of the soldiers and police that have made the decision to join the people. It will also peacefully and warmly welcome the many soldiers and police that will join the people soon.
Because the NUG will take care of food, shelter, and healthcare of national soldiers and police that join the people, Acting President Duwa Lashi La urges the national soldiers and police to contact the respective entities as soon as possible.
